I’ve just returned from leading a basecamp trip for Arctic Wild to the eastern portion of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge along the Kongakut River. We camped for a week near Whale Mountain. While the wildlife was not as abundant as we had hoped, the weather and the scenery were spectacular. I made this image a short walk from camp, facing up river.
