This morning I was browsing through an old hard drive that I hadn’t hooked up in years and stumbled on several sets of images that for one reason or another, hadn’t been transferred into my current storage system. Among those were a set from a mid-September trip into Denali National Park in 2007. I’d practically forgotten about most of the images. But I’m glad I found them, because hidden in those files was this set of photos.<\/p>\n

It was the first snowfall of the year, and the high passes were covered in about 8 inches of fresh, fluffy new snow. We found this bear, on Highway Pass, I think (it’s been a while), and watched him for about 20 minutes as he found, and proceeded to dig out and eat an Arctic Ground Squirrel that had been settling in for a short-lived hibernation.<\/p>\n
